WELCOME TO 5-STAR'S USAG & USAIGC TEAMS

The Five-Star USAG competitive team is a member of USA Gymnastics which is the national governing body for the sport in the United States. The Five-Star USAG Gymnastics team consists of levels 2 through level 10. Gymnasts who participate on this team compete in local, state, regional, and national level competitions. The training frequency of the different levels of the USAG team range from 2-6 times per week and ALL team members are expected to commit to 12 months of training each season. The Five-Star USAG team's culture is very nurturing, supportive and positive. Team members are expected to train diligently, respect their parents/coaches/teammates, and strive for their personal best always. The Five-Star USAG  a very respectful, encouraging, and cohesive team. Keeping an open line of communication with our USAG families is a priority throughout the season. We host parent/coach conferences mid-season to discuss each gymnast's progress and goals. Annually, USAG gymnasts enjoy a team awards dinner, an annual holiday party, an annual sleepover, and the opportunity to participate in a week-long training at Woodward Camp in Pennsylvania during the summer.
The Five-Star USAIGC competitive team is a member of the United States Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs which is the governing body for the sport in the United States and abroad. The Five-Star USAIGC team levels begin with Copper and continue through Gold. Gymnasts compete in local, state, regional, national, and international competitions. The training frequency of the different levels of USAIGC teams range from 2-4 times per week and ALL team members are expected to commit to 12 months of training each season. The Five-Star USAIGC team is the perfect program for the gymnast who is interested in participating on a competitive team while still allowing time for participation in other activities outside of the gym. The Five-Star USAIGC team is less costly than the USAG model and requires less overall time commitment. Team gymnasts are expected to train diligently, respect their parents/coaches/teammates, and set their sights on achieving their personal best always. The Five-Star USAIGC coaching staff is supportive, respectful, and encouraging. Maintaining open communication with our USAIGC families is a priority. USAIGC also conducts parent/coach conferences mid-season to discuss the gymnast's progress and goals. USAIGC team gymnasts also enjoy an annual team awards dinner, holiday party, team sleepover, and the opportunity to attend a week-long training at Woodward Camp in Pennsylvania during the summer.
Participation on any competitive gymnastics team requires a tremendous commitment from both the gymnast and her family. At Five-Star, we pride ourselves in providing a crystal clear explanation of all time obligations, physical requirements, gymnast/family dedication, and financial responsibilities necessary for participation on team prior to the tryout date. We host an informative meeting each May to educate families who may be interested in having their gymnast try out for our team in June. To this end, we have received much praise from our current and former team families who tell us that this meeting provided valuable information and was helpful in determining their final decision regarding USAG/USAIGC team tryouts.
Participation on Five-Star's USAG and USAIGC teams is contingent upon the results of our annual team tryout. If you are selected for our either of our competitive teams, please understand that you are required to attend ALL scheduled practice sessions over the summer. Summer practice sessions occur Monday-Friday during the day. TEAM IS A 12-MONTH COMMITMENT.  If you have not received an email confirming your child's eligibility to join USAG or USAIGC teams, please do not register for any of the classes offered on this team page.  For more information regarding Five-Star's competitive teams, contact Jodi Kessler at (516) 887-6600.
Participating in competitive gymnastics encourages girls to appreciate the importance of hard work, positivity, perseverance, goal setting, achievement, teamwork, personal fitness, and friendship.
We welcome all girls ages 4-18 to try out each June!
